Evolved from the ancient Celtic holiday of Samhain, Halloween has transitioned from a pagan ritual to a day of parties, costumes, jack-o-lanterns, and trick-or-treating for kids and adults. And, this year, the U.S. is looking at pre-pandemic participation with 69% of consumers planning to celebrate the holiday this year.
Now, while we are seeing the numbers rise to pre-pandemic levels, we’re still seeing many consumers continuing the online shopping trend. With its convenience and available coupon codes found online, we don’t see the boost in online shopping decreasing anytime soon.
As with any major holiday, consumers are starting to shop earlier and earlier. However, there is still time to grab those last-minute shoppers looking to score a deal or add to their Halloween celebrations.
Additionally, millennials are beginning to be some of the biggest spenders in the Halloween market and their increased use of online stores is projected to provide for an increase in online spending in the future. After all, the biggest shopping season is just around the corner and the Halloween crowd is already in the shopping mood.
