We’re excited to welcome Matthew to the team and can’t wait to get to know our new Director of Business Development a little better as the days go on.
To start, we already know Matthew is an experienced business development professional with a proven track record of growing revenue and cultivating relationships. Hired on for his positive energy, a wealth of business knowledge, and affiliate marketing experience, we’re positive Matthew will shine in his new role.
But what got him here, and how does he feel so far about his new role? Let’s dive in a little further with Matthew Gordon…
Question: What inspired you to join AIM?
Answer: After speaking with AIM’s People Success and Operations Manager, Chrissy Malukiewicz, about the position and learning more about the culture at AIM, I was more than intrigued. I then did more reading on the company website and dug in deeper on Sarah Bundy. It was the strong praise, admiration, and industry knowledge that both Sarah and the team at AIM displayed that made me want to apply. Lastly, the stage that AIM is currently entering is my favorite stage for an organization and I have a lot of experience with growth staged businesses.
Question: Which of AIM’s Core Values (Delight, Innovate, Grow, and Giveback) aligns most with your own?
Answer: This is a tough one for me as I feel that I am very well-rounded and that each of the core values matches up very well with me personally (hence the answer to question #1). That being said, I would have to say that “grow” is the core value that resonates with me the most. I feel personally fulfilled when I’m helping to grow an organization’s revenue, grow a partner’s program, or mentoring colleagues so they can grow in their careers.
Question: Now that you’re done with orientation, what was your first impression of AIM?
Answer: WOW! Seriously, the answer to that question is WOW. The commitment and dedication I can see from each and every person at AIM are impressive. The expertise and experience of each person truly combine into a winning combination across the organization. From HR being ready to welcome a new team member virtually, to the first day welcome messages, and all the way into week #2 where everyone is still reaching out to welcome me, include me and to remind me they are here to support me makes me feel so welcomed and part of the team. (Thank you!)
Question: What aspect of your job excites you most? Why?
Answer: Building a new division within AIM’s organization structure; and, working with Sarah Bundy makes it that much more exciting for me. Having access to Sarah’s knowledge and experience to complete this job makes it all that much sweeter. As an industry leader, I hope to learn not just about performance marketing but also how to build and maintain a successful organization.
Question: Now that you’re a little more settled, do you have a goal for the next 30 days for yourself in your new role?
Answer: For the next 30 days I’m going to continue being a sponge as much as I’m allowed to be. There is so much history and potential that needs to be gone through, evaluated, and strategized. As I start to feel more confident in my company knowledge, I hope to start forming a wireframe around the sales process and how it can be integrated into all facets of the organization.
