Keeping the Lines of Communication Open – Meet Cathryn Campbell

It is my pleasure to introduce, Cathryn Campbell!

Cathryn joined AIM in the fall of 2019 having gained experience in traditional marketing. While spending several years working within the travel and hospitality industry and with her marketing background, she was keen to progress her career in the niche world of affiliate marketing.

Her time spent in the industry has given her valuable customer service experience, along with the ability to keep several plates spinning at once with a smile on her face. However, when she’s not plate spinning, Cathryn volunteers for the RSPCA, a UK animal welfare charity, and loves hiking in the rainy Welsh mountains.

Read on to get to know a little more about this amazing AIM-er…

Job Title: Associate Account Manager
Expertise: Staying organized and reliable while offering great rapport with both clients and affiliates.

Question: You are a new addition to the crayon box. What colour would you be and why?

Cathryn: Green; because it’s a mixture of blue and yellow, my two favourite colours and it reminds me of home (the welsh mountains).

Question: If you were a superhero (and we know you are), what would your superpower be and what can we call you?

Cathryn: To make people tell the truth – I think the world would be a much fairer place if people were made to be honest. Politicians wouldn’t be able to lie to mislead voters, the media wouldn’t be able to publish lies to cover-up scandals or intentionally deceive people, and even your sister wouldn’t be able to lie about stealing that top that went missing when you were 15. You could call me ‘Cat the Lie-Catcher’ and you can thank me for getting back that parcel Hermes left with your neighbour that they swore they never received.

Question: Your favourite Inspirational Quote and Why

Cathryn: “Do what you want in life, so long as you don’t hurt anyone along the way.” This is a quote from my mum – she repeated this to us growing up. Whenever we would be agonising over a decision, or wondering what we would do with our lives, this would always be her answer and it’s become my philosophy. It really doesn’t matter what you do in your life, so long as you enjoy yourself and so long as it doesn’t hurt anyone along the way.

Question: Name one thing about your job that inspires you to keep working at AIM and gets you out of bed in the morning?

Cathryn: The relationships I get to build with co-workers, clients, and publishers. These connections make it a joy to come to work every day.

Question: How did you become interested in Marketing?

Cathryn: I wanted a career that allowed me to be both creative and analytical. I am someone who needs to flex my creative muscle, but also someone who loves to see measurable results. Marketing is the perfect combination of both!

Question: Tell us about your greatest achievement in your career, so far.

Cathryn: Operating as critical support to a top tier account, and successfully managing a platform migration during turbulent times mid-pandemic.

Question: What is your biggest professional challenge?

Cathryn: Affiliate marketing is an ever-evolving and ever-changing field. The challenge comes with keeping yourself educated on the most recent developments within the field; however, I love learning so this is both a challenge and a perk of the industry for me.

Question: What is the one piece of advice you can offer a budding Affiliate Marketer?

Cathryn: Be creative and flexible in your approach. Think outside of the box and don’t be afraid to try something new; whether that’s a new publisher type, a new optimization strategy, or a new recruitment angle – you just might find that it works so much better than you expected! And if not, well, then you know for next time.
