Using his analytical gifts to help programs succeed – Meet Jean Traore

It is my pleasure to introduce, Jean Traore!

Joining the AIM team in early 2020, Jean made a leap back into the Affiliate Marketing world. With previous 10+ years of experience in the digital marketing space, Jean found his passion and never looked back.

Jean is fascinated with data, analytics, strategizing, and relationship building with publishers and advertisers and uses this to help campaigns succeed. A self-proclaimed geek at heart, Jean loves reading business books and networking, as well as getting involved in local e-commerce or digital marketing events.

Get to know more about this data-driven rock star below!

Job Title: Associate Account Manager
Expertise: Thriving with data, analytics, strategizing, and relationship building with publishers and advertisers.

Question: You are a new addition to the crayon box. What colour would you be and why?

Jean: I would be the color green as it represents for me many positive things such as energy, growth, freshness, health, and nature, as well as progress and positivity.

Question: If you were a superhero (and we know you are), what would your superpower be and what can we call you?

Jean: Beware, this superhero would be very powerful and can not only teleport itself at will but time travel too! Since I love traveling and exploring the world, these powers would be perfect.

Let’s go with the name Time Flash.

Question: Your favourite Inspirational Quote and Why

Jean: Actually, I have 2:

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest” – Benjamin Franklin.

For some reason, this quote forever resonated with me as my grandmother was the first one who mentioned it when I was around 13. As an educator and lifelong teacher, she always motivated her grandchildren to educate themselves, be curious, and read a lot in order to become more knowledgeable.

“Shoot for the moon. If you miss, you’ll land among the stars” – Anonymous.

Not sure where this quote came from but I use it as a motivator and can relate it to my work ethic.

Question: Name one thing about your job that inspires you to keep working at AIM and gets you out of bed in the morning?

Jean: AIM’s TEAM SPIRIT and the common goal to exceed expectations while motivating one another and working closely with your peers. It’s a real sense of family that I’ve personally never experienced despite working with a few startups’ projects in Montreal.

Question: How did you become interested in Marketing?

Jean: I got interested in marketing shortly after finishing my undergraduate studies 10 years ago, and started managing an e-commerce business from the operations, support, social media, and marketing initiatives.

The marketing and analytical side of e-commerce are what I fell in love with before discovering affiliate and performance marketing.

Question: Tell us about your greatest achievement in your career, so far.

Jean: I have a few achievements, but one of my greatest achievements in my career and very difficult to top would be my first experience in managing an e-commerce business. As employee #1 for the owners, you’re really multi-tasking and wearing many hats at any given time. In the span of 18 months from my first day, through various marketing initiatives and implementation techniques, I was involved in creating a department that created substantial ROI to the business and helped build a team of individuals which some became very successful afterward.

Question: What is your biggest professional challenge?

Jean: I’m someone who really enjoys numbers, analytics, and statistics. While I know that being sometimes too analytical is not ideal, it’s something that I can’t stop and is part of my competitive spirit. This fascination for data helps to make campaigns successful.

Question: What is the one piece of advice you can offer a budding Affiliate Marketer?

Jean: Stay woke & hungry for knowledge. Don’t hesitate to ask questions to your peers as it’s absolutely normal and essential to learn every single day about the ever-changing landscape of digital marketing and its new trends. Lastly, time management and being resourceful is key to success!
